Meet Lauren Nesbitt, Owner of Tea, Cake & Crochet

Lauren lives in Shepton Mallet, Somerset with her husband, Andrew and their three miniature poodles, Felix, Mabel and Blossom. Whilst running a successful online party shop from home, Lauren has been happily crocheting for many years. When Lauren isn't cooking, baking or walking the dogs, she can usually be found in front of the fire with a crochet hook in one hand and a large mug of tea in the other.

Lauren began her career in London after graduating in 2011 with a BA (Honours) Textile Design Degree from Chelsea College of Art and Design. After living and working in central London for a few years afterwards, Lauren moved to Somerset with Andrew. Lauren initially worked with creative students at Bath Spa University before embarking on self employment.

Lauren experiences an immense level of enjoyment when helping others learn how to crochet and now runs a series of small crochet workshops and lessons from her home (Rosefinch House) in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Lauren believes tea and cake are fundamental aspects of crocheting, so all of her lucky participants are served delicious tea and cake to make them feel extra special. There's nothing like a yummy homemade treat whilst crocheting.

In her spare time, Lauren has been running the much loved 'Bath Crochet Meetup' since 2014. This is a friendly, creative group, giving local crocheters the opportunity to connect with others on a fortnightly basis in a central Bath coffee shop. There are 20 crocheters joined and Lauren loves nothing more than a cosy catch up after a long day with unlimited yarn, happiness and conversation.

Lauren's work has been featured in a number of well known magazines including Homemaker, Bustle and Sew and Perfect Wedding Magazine. Lauren and her cosy house have also recently benefited from a 5-page spread in the popular 'Your Home' interiors magazine, showing just how much of a fabulous space it is to crochet in. Her warm cosy, country style kitchen really is the perfect space for hosting small crochet workshops.

A class with Lauren is like no other. Her patient, kind, sweet nature alongside her wealth of crochet knowledge and love of hospitality leaves all of her guests feeling well and truly inspired and uplifted. You can read more about enjoying a lesson with Lauren here.
